I take it this thread is about theft of copper and other $$ metals for 
sale to scrap yards, no?

Hell with that.  Kegs make pretty decent gas forges.

That's just stupid.  I take an acetylene torch and slag the wire into a 
mold.  Now what?  Prove where you got the copper ingots?

Yeah,  because police-state tactics have such a glorious history of success.
