[TheForge] winter storm and equipment

Not unless it's a piece you may need in a real hurry, even then. An electric
engine heater is generally all you'll ever need. Even a 50-50 mix of
anti-freeze won't freeze solid, it'll only get slushy unless it's stupid
cold, say in excess of -80f.

Subject: [TheForge] winter storm and equipment

hello;

a simple question.

in this winter storm, of the likes we have not seen in decades, equipment
particularly tractors, generators, hyrdraulics, etc. should that equipment
be started and set to idle for the duration of the storm to ensure that none
of the oil becomes like tar and that none of the coolant systems freeze.
basically, 24x7 until the storm is over.

the equipment is all winterized but i have serious doubts about being good
to an actual -45 degrees F.
