spool guns are my only option on the MillerMatic 185 for welding
aluminum or stainless.

I do agree that a true wire-feed gun would be the best way to go. I have
not completely thought through what I would use it for. With the clock
ticking on removing it I may just have to sort that out later. for now
it would be a great backup generator to the aging propane fuel generacs
generator. I am in no rush to put it in service so I can take my time
finding the right accessories perhaps in the estate auctions.

Having tig will be a big help.
