[TheForge] A Major Crisis in the Art World (somewhat OT)

I don't understand some folk's reasoning. That was almost a $4 mil buy. If
it's cash and carry hire a few stout lads to run interference if necessary
but get it out of there and secure soonest. If on the other hand part of the
deal was to leave it on display for a time then it's on their dime.
The video shows it laying on the floor when the janitor comes through
cleaning up? Look at earlier video and pinch the person who took it off the
wall or the museum official (or whatever) who's responsibility it is to do a
walk through to make sure everything is in good order. If it was SUPOSED to
be on the wall it's the museum's liability.
All you need to do is watch People's Court or Judge Judy to get a handle on
who's responsibility things are in a given situation. Typically it's buyer
beware. Spend a few mill without knowing how it's being secured and it's on
your head. I mean seriously, I buy a 1940 Rolls Royce Phaeton and leave it
on the street with the keys in it. Gee it got stolen the dealer owes me . .
. A disbelieving look and head shake?
Never attribute to a conspiracy that can be explained by simple stupidity.
"The Notebooks of Lazarus Long" by R.A. Heinlein. My bet is it's in the
landfill.

I've salvaged my own old work from other folks trash, embarrassingly...
And some of it was worthy!
Aesthetics is personal and disconcertingly arbitrary.

Do you realize the implications of these cases? Artists may have to ensure
that their Art is distinguishable from trash! It will shake the Art World
to its knees!
Of course, this could NEVER affect any of US!
