At a Maritime Blacksmiths' meet yesterday, I was pleased to see a
teenager demo making a leaf from 1/2" sq.  He had cogent observations
on why his method was better than others and he had more fluid grace at
the anvil than did the mid-career veteran with lots of chops and
street cred who did the next demo.

Admittedly, the veteran attempted a much more complex project without
adequate tooling available and still made a good job of it but the
young guy has the moves.  I hope he'll go for a B.Sc. in a hard
science and then become a full time blacksmith. :-)
