[TheForge] sales question

If I knew the landscaper, I'd buy him a beer and ask outright.

Personally I recommend on the basis of the quality of the work that 
someone does. Financial reward comes from becoming the customers "go 
to"guy for any number of different projects, some of which I get a piece 
of, and referrals from the folks that I am referring.

When someone sends unrequested remuneration I figure they are charging 
MY customer more to cover the costs and feel a need to bribe me with the 
extra cash because their work isn't sufficient to warrant the referral.
