I use it and love it. It will not eat steel or iron, only iron oxides. 
Never tried it for stripping old bluing, but I think that would work as 
well.
I have heard there are some knock offs and have heard that they do not 
work as well. Stick with the Evaporust and you will not be disappointed.
It use to be available at Horror Fright as well. They do carry other 
than store brand stuff... just make sure it says Evaporust
