Oh... and Thomas and another point. True antique wrought iron is a great
find. It is sought out like candy by backyard blacksmiths, because it is
soft and easy to work on an anvil.
Maybe 10 or 12 or so years ago, we had an importer... of a soft "wrought
iron" like metal... a source called "pure iron" that was also very low
carbon, I think something like only .006 carbon and wonderful to work
with. It was a bit pricey but so fun to work with. I bought a couple
hundred dollars of "pure iron" to play with at ABANA conference @ La
Crosse, Wi.
