Don't know of any damns that went in..It's a day's drive north of here.
The once splendid salmon run, is in poor shape but worth reviving.
Failing to protect a resource that produces that much high quality food perennially seems profoundly short-sighted.
It is one of the most liberal parts of the country with rampant foodies pawing and snorting everywhere.
The vast apple orchards, are being displaced by vineyards and it's now " wine country" complete with some old world pretensions.
The area also has a whole bunch of good blacksmiths and supports a pretty good market.
