Lost some roofing and had the top of a tree almost do in my car and front
of the house, just missed the car and caught on the front porch rather than
go through the window, probably under $1000. We cut it up in the storm to
get it off the house as it was rocking and heading for the window. My stuff
in the yard in Tottenville was in 7' feet of sea water, not good for
welders, forges, motors and tools, have to see what I can save. Spent the
last few days tearing apart a welding machine and motor. Compared to what
happened to a lot of others here losses are minimal, a couple of grand. Had
my Father staying here till he got power and my father in law just got
power and left yesterday. I got power back first Thursday morning before
that I used the welder for power.

There is going to be a large death toll here, many were trapped in homes
and they only count who they identify on the news. Many lost homes and
boats. I'm lucky to just lose a few grand worth of stuff tops
