Ah, well, but then there's this:

No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no
Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall,
without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present,
Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King,
Prince or foreign State. -- US Constitution, Art. 1, Sec. 9

OTOH, there's also this from the same article & section:

The privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended,
unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety
    may require it.

and that's been tossed into the memory hole so maybe y'all can do the
same with the "Title of Nobility" clause, too.

In YADATROT [1] I'm reminded of the occasions when some hospital
support group decides to have an art auction and solicits donations of
original works from artists. The proceeds from the auction are to go
to buy a new MRI scanner, digital proctoscope or the like.

They laughed at me when when I said, "Doctors have six-figure incomes,
you folks in the Ladies' Aid Society are married to lawyers, business
owners and executives with even higher incomes. This is all bass
ackwards. How about you get the physicians, surgeons and hospitals to
donate nose jobs, breast enhancements, chits good for private hospital
rooms with room service or life-long homecare that can be redeemed as
needed. Auction them off and donate the proceeds to starving artists
who dress in rags, live in hovels and eat canned beans so that they
can buy high-quality paints, Beverly shears, propane for their glass
furnaces or the like."

Oh, well. It was an idea.
