I swear this group is haunted. I was just looking up anvil repair myself...
This site recommends stoody 2110 for build up and 1105 for hardfacing:

Stoody sells them in 10 lb packages (more than I'd use in a reasonable
amount of time) for about $50-$60 per package. If you decide to go this
way, let me know. Maybe we can split an order at the New Salem event...
