No, it's not about the story which is plain sad. It was his attitude and
manner in relating the news I took offence at.

Rob, it has nothing to do with smithing, but plenty to do with the
irrational overcoming the rational.
It is to be hoped that people like us who work with dangerous materials use
our heads for more than hat racks, and function as rational people do.
Or, would you like to see someone come in here and say, "And I always store
my gasoline right next to the forge, because Jesus showed himself to me in a
mud puddle and said that I should"?
I have nothing against Catholics, or the adherents of any religion.
However, I have plenty against superstition and illogic, and against the
people who profit by spreading them. I suspect that was Bruce's point.
