I think what he meant was that casting == easy and sintering == difficult.

Making a pattern can be trying, but the process is not nearly as capital 
intensive as sintering.  The molds would likely be very costly, which 
makes no sense for a one-off job... unless you have the billions of 
Gates or you're the Navy.  The cost would be exorbitant IMO.
