Jim -
I found that Eagle Machinery staff was pretty knowledgeable on old tools - there is also a website forum called Old Tools that had all kinds of info on it, you will have to sign up. Victory Machinery is another place that you might ask. They have all helped me out in the past. You can google all three for the sites.

Clearly a minority of the population is nuts everywhere. I guess a key
difference with the China incidents is that generally knives are used and at
least the deaths are reduced. Also, I expect that having to use a knife
makes it much more up-close and personal, although that did not seem to
hinder the guy that wounded the 22. Remember too the guy that murdered a
huge number of kids on an island in Norway(?) a bit back.

It is not getting the press coverage, but they had a similar incident in
China ( one of several in the last year or so). Twenty kindergartners
attacked with a
knife. Having spent a lot of in China, it is not for lack of laws,
restrictions or enforcement. There are other issues that need to be
addressed.

Here's an insane reaction to the OT...
http://weaselzippers.us/2012/12/16/liberals-call-for-murder-of-nra-president-and-its-members/
Whose crazy now?
We seem to be spiraling down the sewer, all that those folks have to
offer is a rabid, illogical solution.
The drug soaked gothic mind of the murderer is difficult to understand
for normal people to fathom.
I believe that the ACLU had more to do with this atrocity than any NRA
member. They are the ones that have advocated allowing truly disturbed
people to roam freely amongst us. They need to be treated or removed
from society in general.
I am not a vigilantly, I am not a police officer, but I am willing to
defend my family from those like the goth monster in Connecticut. I
assume you would do as much for your loved ones.
I wish someone had been at the school to defend and protect those poor
children.
May God rest their soles

Part of the problem is the cut back in the budgets in mental health services.

I heard that the mother had an arsenal of weapons and taught her children how to shoot. If that is true, was that a wise decision w/a child having a mental disability? Additionally, having access to weapons that are not secured in a safe? Parenting skills have to be questioned here if this is indeed the truth.

IF that story is true, she showed incredibly bad perhaps even criminally
bad judgement.
