I cannot imagine the horror of the parents.

They are saying the shooter had mental health problems, not a stretch of 
the imagination there. Unfortunately the states and feds are in the process 
of cutting funding and pushing patients who used to be kept for longer 
periods out on the streets. There are reasons given, but the bottom line is 
the money.

  After large amounts of these incidents occur and the public cries out 
that there needs to be something done, they will restore some funding, make 
new guidelines for the doctors and other professionals to follow. Then a 
few years later they will strip the guidelines and funding again as the 
public has a short memory and the body count will start over.

What ever happened to shooting yourself with out taking others with you? 
Out of style?
