I had to look up "allodial title" to understand what you were talking
about. The Wikipedia article suggests that it is not now possible to
obtain allodial tital in the US.
When I was a kid in CA, my father (who later became a realtor) told me
about "homesteading" by which (paperwork?) one could prevent loss of
one's home by foreclosure. Later, when I bought a home in CA, he said
nothing to me about it (and I'd long forgotten about it), but he was
co-owner so possibly he filed for me -- I don't know.
Anyway, where taxes are reasonable, I have no problem paying them.
But there's no question that we live in an era -- in some locations --
of runaway taxes.
