Andy,

When we lived in Conneticuit, we built a new house.  The builder had the 
ground surveyed and you could see the flags for all 4 corners.  I was 
standing at one corner looking up the property line at the far flag and 
noticed that my neighbor's drive way was 20' on my property.  I told the 
contractor expecting him to tell the neighbor to move his drive. He did not, 
what he did was when they brought in the dozer to dig the foundation, he had 
the guy run it up the property line cutting off the neighbor's drive at the 
line. He said that if you let the title change hands without fixing disputes 
it could get grandfathered in and become my neighbor's land. I expected more 
diplomacy, but it worked.

That first summer things were a little tense between me and my neighbor when 
we were both working in our yards.  He never disputed that it was my land, 
just not real happy about the process.
