[TheForge] A newbe question.

The anvil is BROKEN!  Would you pay $3/# for a broken anvil?  If so, I
have a few to sell to you...

And a cheap Chinese anvil may be a better anvil than a newbie is a
blacksmith.  At 50c/# it can be a bargain.  Then, when you learn how
not to hit the anvil with the hammer, you move on to a better anvil.
