75# is plenty.  Look at that little 88#er Marshall has.  It's great.

Finally something right issues from your pie hole.  A 10" long section 
of 4" square steel stood on end would make a fine anvil, though I would 
look for a chunk of tool steel.  4140 would be about perfect.
