Over kill, from everything stated so far... but 10 or 12 years ago, my old
stick welder crapped out. I replaced it with a new one that looked to be
it's later day, identical twin, but this time under the Sears's name
plate.. an AC/DC welder. However the new Sears one didn't have a wheel
cart. In the process of robbing the wheel cart from my 1977 era stick
welder, I had to remove the metal case, and was shocked by the built up
grime and dust. With my compressor, I blew away the dirt. On a fluke after
I had reassembled it, without the wheel kit... I plugged in the "dead"
welder and it worked just like it did the day I bought it in 1977.
That got me to thinking how my daddy taught me to give our guns a full
cleaning, even when they didn't look dirty, and it shouldn't surprise me
how that applies to most things mechanical. In that light, I best get at
it, as I think it has been over a year since I cleaned the compressor
coils on my freezer and refrigerator.
