>From what the video said, the tanks aren't closed in the sense you're
talking. The weight of the internal barrel is all that holds it down.
If the internal pressure increases, it escapes under the edges of the
internal barrel. Using pressure cookers as  a comparison, that's a
very light weight (comparatively) so you wouldn't be building up more
than about 10 or 20 lbs of pressure (depending on the weight of the
barrel). And, the relief "valve" isn't a  teensy little thing as on a
pressure cooker. The relief valve would be the entire circumference of
the internal barrel, which means you don't have a lot of pressure in a
small area, but rather evenly distributed pressure across a large
area. It's just sufficient closure to prevent inflow of air, not out
flow, given that you're dealing with positive [pressure.
