Hot mill gloves have lots of cotton layers and work pretty well, but not much dexterity.
Like yr hack Mike.
The argument against kelvlar or nomex gloves is that they do melt and get really nasty when they do.
Leather shrinks when it gets hot enough and that makes it hard to get rid of fast.
Anyone know about that carbon-x stuff?
I seldom wear gloves forging..and then only on the left.
