[TheForge] press design

Well you may want to stick with the 100 ton cylinder but you will need lots of pump. I just went through the exercise of looking into speeding up the 200 tom press I was talking about. one way to do it is have a series of small easily obtained pumps feeding a manifold. The plumbing gets to be a PITA but it is not too hard to find 1/2 -1 HP 10,000 psi pumps. The 5 and 10 HP jobs are a lot tougher to source used at a reasonable price. We had a 1 1/2 HP pump and it is way too slow for forging work on the 200 ton ram. I would think 3-5 HP would get enough volume flow to be adequate on a 100 ton cylinder.

BTW great score that is a dirt cheap price on a 100 ton ram and pump.
