Just to follow up, my founding fathers of American Blacksmithing would be:
A decent blacksmith and writer-Alex Bealer
Two great Blacksmiths-Ivan Bailey and John Algood
Two very good blacksmiths-Dimitri Gerakaris and my father, John A. Weichert
