It is aggravating, but that is life in the free market.
I bouthg a 417# PW from Jim McCarty (where is he these days?) that came
out of a railroad shop. I paid $1.80/# and it was well worth the money.
I would not (could not) pay $10+/#, unless of course it was made of
fine gold in which case I would ask mom for a loan.

That sort of equipment is hard to find in the left. Prices in AZ were
high and equipment was barely available in WA and OR. When I was living
in Portland I bought a 168# PW that cost me under $300 WITH motor
freight from MA. I could not have gotten a paperweight locally for that
money.

There is a part of me that wants to beat such people with an iron bar
but I keep him locked securely away lest he get loose.
