[TheForge] steel supplies

Dave,

The keystock is what I have been getting and is no longer available. The
distributer said that they didn't sell enough to justify stocking it. If we
want it we would have to buy a hole mill run. I'm sure that would be be may
more than I would use in a lifetime.

I guess the machine shops would have to buy it on line and have it shipped.

I use it for handles on candle snuffers, they may be too expencive for my
buyer with extra shipping. Time will tell.

What are shops going to use for keystock? Ask your supplier for 3/16
keystock in 12 foot lengths. Or go on line and find it, have it cut to 6
footers and shipped to you -- will not be cheap. Check machine shop supply
houses in St. Louis or KC -- they should have it as keystock.

Ries,

I've been getting the 12' cold rolled, but now they say they can't get that
any more.

Hot rolled, or cold?
I havent seen 3/16" hot rolled since about 1978, out here.
Its only been available as 12 footers of cold rolled where I live for a
long, long, time.
