We buy lots of aviary wire.
If one wants to be sure ( well, kinda sure) that the plants wont be eaten before we get to them,,
then they need to be caged above and below ground.
Even so, every now and then, a coon will rip their way in right at the worst possible time.
We use them as a soil amendment then.
