Bob,  Sad to say but Vance Baker passed away a few years ago, I think in 
2006 or 2007.  He taught at the John C. Campbell Folk School for many years. 
He was noted as a teacher of beginning blacksmiths.  He was a retired 
lineman from Athens, TN.  There is a Memorial Scholarship in his name open 
only to women.  (He was very supportive of getting more women into 
blacksmithing.)
