What a pleasant surprise... I was talking to a friend who needed a bit of
computer work done, and jokingly said I'd do it for $800 an a bottle of
decent scotch... well, I went over and cleaned her machine of numerous nasty
pieces of spyware, and found that she had taken my joke seriously, and found
she had bought a bottle of 14 yr. Oban single malt. A tad young for my
taste, but I find Oban's 14 is easily on par with most other distillery's
18's. I also managed to wrangle a $20 for gas out of the deal. Mind you,
with finances as they are, I could never justify buying a bottle of scotch
for myself at the moment, but having one given to me was a rather welcome
surprise. As for sticking with Irish whiskey, I have but this to say to you
sir... It may have been the Irish who invented whiskey, but it took us scots
to perfect it.

Save that well aged "peat- and burned-wood-flavored ethanol" along with the
haggis for me please.
