You can go only so far with goats.  Too far and they bleed to death 
before your eyes.  Besides, we have all manner of predators up here 
including mountain lion (a neighbor shot one hisownself right in these 
here hills) and I won't have anyone unarmed.  All I have to do is steer 
clear until season is over and he will calm himself.
