[TheForge] Forging Tungston?

At our last event I had someone give me a couple pins that he said were 
tungston.  They look like they were punches out of some kind of punch press. 
They are 5/8" dia rd about 8" long with a ring/recess cut in them about 1" 
from one end.

Have any of you worked with tungston? Can I forge them with normal 
blacksmith processes?  What would be the best application for them? It would 
be nice to have a hot cut that I didn't have to worry about overheating. Or 
maybe a hammer head eye drift.
