Two things.
First I don't know where you got the notion John was extolling the 
virtues of warfare.If that was your read on his post.

The manful part I understand my ladies would huff and snuffle something 
about testosterone. Having a few sons I'd have to admit that I see their 
point<G>

Second.
That is a really good idea.I wonder how much we would need to raise? 
Maybe the folks overseeing scholarships could give us an "about" figure.
