VERY untrue. Residential gas stoves, for example, will not put out more
than about 200K BTU/hr. A commercial stove will generate up to 500K
BTU/hr, not counting the ovens. If you install a commercial stove in a
home, the manufacturer's warranty will be rendered void because
residential edifices are not built to withstand that kind of heat output
and they don't want to be anywhere near liability when your house burns
to the ground and kills your entire family.
Even a modestly sized single burner gas forge is going to put out at
least as much heat as, say, a 10- or 12-eye commercial stove, probably
more. THAT is why insurance companies and the city have cows over it.
Not saying it is right, only pointing out the reasons.
