Why am I reminded of the scene in The Confusion where Sgt. Bob gets
wounded by a brass uniform button? The French balls were a tiny
smidgen too big for the Irish muskets. Maybe we should be pretty
picky what we order in from the US, eh? :-)

And here in the GWN, we have Princess Auto. They have:

+ A large line of cheap but functional Chinese tools

+ A similar line of cheap, non-functional Chinese tools
   (e.g. Anvil-Shaped Objects)

+ Shop sundries too numerous to mention

+ Grab bag of used, one-owner pre-driven, or overstock stuff.

Not as extensive as McM-C, AFAIK.

OTOH, my local hardware store has nails, bolts, screws and several
hundred other fastener-type hardware items loose. No little plastic
packages of 20 nails or 5 Chicago bolts.

There is a notion, in parts of the USA, that Canada already has a
surplus of Left-[whatever]. ;-) Jeez, even our propane tanks have
left-hand thread, y'know? (Don't tell our Prime Minister or we'll
have to buy all new regulators 'n stuff.)

Thanks anyhow. I don't have any left-hand holes to drill just now.
