One of my favorites is Boston.  Just about anywhere on a walking tour 
downtown and around in the residential areas you will find period 
ironwork.  Of course, there is some new cut and paste stuff too.  You 
have to look for the old stuff, take your camera.

In Newport, RI along the beach there are some wonderful homes, many open 
to the public.  The Cornelius Vanderbilt mansion is open, the staircase 
is bronze, the gates and fences are large diameter and probably wrought 
iron.  It was built circa 1900.

That area of the USA is full of things to look at.
