If you can figure out how to contact Tony Millham at Star Forge in
Newport, RI or at his home in Westport, Mass., he can probably tell
you about everything interesting in that neighborhood.  He's done a
*lot* of restoration smithing work in Newport, across the bay from
Providence. 

I visited his forge and bought my welder from him many years ago but I
can't find contact info.  If nothing else, you could check the phone
book after you get to Providence.
