One other thought on burning chips. Two summers ago one of my customers had a large pile of chips delivered on a Monday morning for mulch . Thursday about noon I started to smell smoke up on the scaffold. By 3 o'clock I was raking a part a very hot pile of chips trying to disperse the heat, and debating calling the fire department.
