On thicker material and on curved surfaces, the warpage would show less.
I imagine she has to go back and deal with clean up anyway so she could 
pop the low spots back up. Moving at the right speed lessens the 
distortion a lot.
You can see from the line that she must have a rock steady hand.
When i do intricate cutting, i set up with elbow and forearm rests, 
triangulate my grip with both hands, elbows spread, preferably seated, 
and generally cut in arcs pivoting my wrists.

Grunt...I have a beard and had longish hair, and heard the same sort of 
shit in years gone by. Some folks just don't figure it out. Asking them 
a technical question they probably can't answer, sometimes helps.
Showing them some of your work sometimes shuts them up.
So, just to say, adding
