[TheForge] insurance

We have a similar form of insurance here in the form of a "Farm Rider" on
the home owners. It covers darned near everything we do from the barn, my
shop up to and including almost killing myself cutting trees. To be honest
though most of my TREE experience has been paid by my regular medical
insurance, this time anyway.

So, anyone ever think about going after insurance as a collective bargaining
project? Seriously, if you walk into the insurance office as an individual
it's likely to cost plenty. On the other hand if you get even a few folk to
go in with you, say 6-10, you'll likely walk out with a more comprehensive
policy and a nice discount, say 10% give or take. Bring a few hundred
customers and look for somewhere in the 30%+ range of discounts. You should
see what having a couple thousand customers does for the rates and service.
