[TheForge] Fanning the flames

I had a friend give me the wood off of a bellows some years ago. The wood
needs some repair and of course it needs leather. The wood is 2"x6"s
laminated together, very heavy. It has just sat there waiting for me to have
time to work on it. I was thinking of using an oil cloth in place of
leather, but haven't really checked on price of either. It also needs the
valves and nozel block.

I half expected that 3/4" plywood would be too light. Maybe I'll
laminate a couple of pieces of 1/2" for the bottom, although hanging
weight from it doesn't bother me. The museum shop where I volunteer has
a rebuilt antique bellows, and even with planks about 1" thick, we hung
4 very large horse shoes from the bottom paddle to get it to draw more
effectively.

Thanks for the comments.
