[TheForge] Slack tank

I wonder if a wooden half-barrel is flexible enough that it wouldn't break.
It doesn't get brittle when cold like plastic does.
Bought a full size barrel a few years ago thinking what a nice slack tub it
would make, and it's still sitting on its side outdoors- If I stop every few
hours and do a backbend over it, I feel much looser at the end of the day-
it's worth lots more to me that way. Still using a five gallon bucket.

Mark,
Mine's a wine barrrel cut in half. It actually froze two weeks ago, and I
emptied it. I had to go to the dentist today, so I stopped in the farm
store and got the heater. I've never had ice break a barrel, but I always
empty them as soon as the surface freezes. Over the years I've had several
plastic buckets freeze and break, if I leave them over the weekend and
forgot to empty on Friday.
