Thanks, Pete.
I was easier for me to complain about "the government" before I knew a lot 
of people who get up early and work hard and honestly for said government.
Knowing them personally changes everything: a lot of what the leadership 
does is really disturbing, but most of the people who aren't on the news are 
trying pretty hard to get it right.
The myth that they're all brainwashed automatons wasn't that convincing in 
the Sixties, and still doesn't work for me.

The policy isn't their fault mostly.
  They are just doing the job they were hired for
  and the pressure on them to come up with a terrorist is huge.
The blame goes to the news media and the legislators in concert with osama.
We were disgustingly quick to give up our civil liberties...
even though we've about run out of commies.
