Great minds must work alike.

Actually,  The Blacksmith Guild of Central MD has started just such an thing
in our on-line BLACKSMITH ENCYCLOPEDIA.

Click on UNITED STATES to get a list of the states.  Then click on the
individual state to see what is located there. 

The down side, is that due to the  WIKI-SPAM we have been forced to ask
those who contribute to the listings to register. 

The   lat/lang coordinates is a good idea, hadn't thought of including that.
