[TheForge] Fw: temporary welder setup

If the welder is rated for a 30 amp breaker then you should be just fine
with Number 10 wire for the 220 volt feed. Since you will be on a 50 amp
breaker, you will not have protection for your feed from the receptacle out
to the welder unless you have a dead short. Still this welder is rated at
only taking 21.7 amps at 230 volts. You should not have any problem with
you temporary feed outside of the building for the welder.

Note that none of this applies for a feed inside the building -- in which
case you need to have either a 30 amp breaker for the # 10 wire or if you
have a 50 amp breaker and # 6 wire.
By the way are you sure this is a 50 amp breaker? Most dryers are 30 amp.
Stoves are either amp 40 (# 8) or 50 amp (# 6).

The key here is that this is a temporary feed!! Outside the building or at
least not in the walls and hidden.
