[TheForge] barrel stoves

When I was a kid I lived on a fairly remote island which at one time had
shipped its gasoline in lovely heavy gauge 55 gallon barrels with kind of
rounded sides. A stove made from one of these would last decades of long
winters.
But what stands out in my memory is the examples that one welder kept in
his front yard, of barrels that had exploded when he used a torch to cut
the doors out...he always said, "Sometimes you just get unlucky..."
I kind of thought the luck was going the other way, but considering what
else we had to put up with from that guy, perhaps it wasn't so lucky after
all.
