Wait, that might be a double-wicked oil lamp.  Those "spikes" are
hollow and could be for wicks.  Two wicks provides more light and
sometimes allows one to relight the other in case it one is blown out.
 I cannot see for sure whether there is a chamber for oil, but it
looks like there might be.  I see no fill hole.
