This would be drilling into an existing angled surface like a small wall
section on a stairway/stoop. So would your method work with a core
drill? BTW your description is how I had imagined it would be done but
still susceptible to failure if not executed perfectly. You only have
one shot to do it right if you have been contracted to make and set a
railing in these conditions.
