The tire hammer plans are $30 and list the specs on every part in the tire
hammer. The spring can be ordered from the supplier. The aluminum drum that
fits on the 5/8' shaft of the 1hp motor which contacts the tire is the part
Clay has custom made for his tire hammer workshops. That part was originally
made by welding a v pulley inside a piece of pipe.
The anvil can be anything that = the weight of 3' of 6" round. One hammer I
know of has a piece of railroad track with truck axles, etc, welded
vertically and on both ends to make up the weight. The dies are RR track
also. It was designed from the photos of Jim Wilson's hammer on
Anvilfire.com. The spring is from the fork of a wrecked Harley. Not pretty,
but a real junkyard Hammer that works well.
Clay Spencer refined Ray Klontz's design and has designed jigs to hold the
parts in place for welding. The "three day workshop" presupposes a lot of
pre-workshop preparation such as drilling and welding.
