2 1/2 shaft is a great find,  I have almost no really large stuff to work 
with.  A friend that works for a CAT repair shop gave me some large king 
pins, but they all have a lube hole down the center, kind of limits their 
usefulness.

Keep checking those trash piles!  Today between two old washing machines,
and under a crappy folding chair I found a 29" piece of 2 1/2" shaft!  A
pretty good find.  A small anvil is what it will be.
